Crazily enough, I never thought I would live anywhere but Texas! That idea was quickly flipped on its head when I made eyes with a blue-eyed cowboy from New Mexico during my second semester of college. Our first date was a 1,000 mile road trip where we ultimately fell in love between state lines to the tune of Roger Miller playing through the speakers of his dodge pickup truck and the yellow lines flew by out the window, framing the desert landscape that has now become the second love of my life.

AFTER GRADUATION, WE PLANTED OUR ROOTS IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, NEW MEXICO ON HIS FAMILY’S CATTLE RANCH. INITIALLY, I WAS PRETTY UNSURE OF THE WIDE OPEN SPACES, A TWO HOUR DRIVE TO TARGET AND THIS WEIRD OBSESSION EVERYONE HAD WITH GREEN CHILE. FAST FORWARD FOUR YEARS AND I COULDN’T LIVE WITHOUT THESE VIBRANT DESERT SUNSETS AND SLATHER THAT GREEN CHILE ON EVERYTHING, PLEASE!

YOU CAN USUALLY FIND ME, HANGING WITH MY BOYS (AKA TWO PERFECT PUPS AND MY husband), PLANNING MY NEXT ROAD TRIP OR SIMPLY TAKING IN THE SWEET DESERT VIEWS FROM MY PORCH, WINE IN HAND.

Cheers!

Hi friends!

I'm taylor

Weddings should reflect your unique love, I made sure mine did! You only get to do it once, so why not make every detail unique to your own story, right?

I personally wanted a destination wedding, but my husband wanted all of our friends and family to be able to attend. I'm sure this is the case for many others so I'm here to tell you that you can do both! We settled on a local spot and invited all our friends and family for a full weekend of fun. Our venue was a big ranch house in a remote location that even had cows in view for the husbabe. With enough rooms on site to host our friends and family for the entire weekend, we got to hang at the pool AND have all our festivities on site. Win win!

First off, we incorporated my husband’s love for all things ranch + rodeo with my obsession for vacationing with my closest peeps. With an overall Southwest + Tropical feel we made sure every detail matched our personalities. From our custom crest on our invitations (cow, camera + a-frame house), spray painted tumbleweeds from New Mexico, to our custom steer skull magnets that "steer'ed" our guests to their seats, no detail was left behind. We topped it off with a custom neon sign that read, "Pettigrew Paradise" to really set the vacay vibes.

Take a peek below to see how we celebrated and get inspired for your own wedding.
